since I don't know where to put this right now, i'll put it here. i've been thinking a lot recently about director's and film movements. you see I have been caught recently in the Hollywood trap, that what is new, is what is good, and all old directors can go hang. the problem is, i was now growing old myself and thus this paradigm wouldn't work, coz it would negate myself ;D so I had to modify my paradigm to validate my existence and at the same time validate the existence of other directors. I used to think that old director's hung around, coz the old foggies also voted them in. Hence the Academy. Even MTV, which is the vanguard of everything that is new, is also guilty of promoting the old foggies, like Madonna and Cher and Jackson. But given there is a cult of the new, there is another cult, which is the cult of the truth. This cult seeks movies, art, music that elevate the spirit, whether they were done by a 72 year old or a 17 year old. Now the cult of the truth and the cult of the new may intermingle coz what is an old truth may become new, when newly rediscovered. and the cult of the new may simply be the 17-21 year old audience. but since I am out of that age group, i must focus on the cult of the truth, which simply thus makes us everlasting. i may be making this choice coz I simply have no choice, or maybe i do, coz I have to think of the bigger sphere of things like politics and history. but movies wise, maybe i am beyond that. and so i need the cult of the truth. anyway, i am not making any sense, and hence why this is a blog for personal reflection. the bottom line i am trying to say is this. we seek truth, not just youth. i may no longer be a youth, and so now i must seek the truth. youth in movies may no longer be attainable by me. youth in politics, history and business, maybe. and so i must have to seek the truth, and who knows, maybe once i get over this whole youth insecurity, i may be able to become youth again, and realize that it is all in the mind, no matter what reality says ;D

if any of you understand this blog entry of mine, i commend you. coz it is very obscure, in my humble opinion ;D
