i am going to write about illegal things here
and so i am going to try to be vague.
a few days ago, me and my "cohorts"
went to a place in Quiapo, where they sell pirated DVD's.
what's interesting is, they just don't sell blockbuster movies, but any movie that comes out in the states currently, including art films. and so they had punch drunk love and igby goes down and dog soldiers and the killer and hardboiled and all that. amazing. and so when it comes to art films, i have no qualms of buying them, coz they are never shown in this country anyway. but i still didn't buy any.
anyway, to get to quiapo
the MRT way -- get off at the Carriedo station, and start walking towards the church. when you get there, go through the underpass and exit at the Hidalgo exit. walk down Hidalgo street and then turn right at (what i think is called) Elizondo street. Elizondo is between Hidalgo and Arlegui.
now for the legit stuff.
i actually parked in Chinatown and bought VCD's from An Jie Son Sales, which I must say, is a great place to buy original VCD's from Hong Kong. The owner is really nice and she gives a fair price =). 180 pesos is the regular price, but she might bring it down, if you are nice. Blockbusters go for even higher prices though. like i think shaolin soccer goes for 350 pesos.
