it's been a long time since i've updated this website, coz blog has been down, live journal is better, but this will do.

anyway, on the indie filipino scene, brash is holding a screening this week, on thursday, friday and saturday, we are showing 3 films by 3 ateneo students all 3 nites. we are charging a hundred pesos entrance.

i am quite proud of these 3 discoveries, coz they really poured their hearts out into these movies.

bobi bonifacio's Kapag Tumibok Ang Puso will be a sure crowd favorite, with it's pop songs, and teeny bopper references.

maurice gaerlan's Akyat Bahay is like Lav Diaz, if he made comedy. which is why we love this guy, because he is so humble.

pong's An Idiot's Guide to Suicide, is an homage to Prometheus and Bob, but much darker. I liked it's quirkiness, and i am a fan of Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.

at least one of these three are going to be mainstream directors one day, and i think that's really kewl.

thanks to quark for allowing us to watch in his class, these students who he honed. yes you did, quark, even though you think they could've operated on autopilot.

i am really looking forward to what the next generation will start churning out during this indie renaissance. it is great. i think we are finally going to overthrow the old lino brocka is great system. not that brocka wasn't great, but he is dead, and a new generation must take over. such is life. : ) no offense.

anyway, what else, i haven't written in such a long time, that my fingers are wired.

i drank a whole cup of coffee in a really huge mug at my mom's coffeeshop. and so i'm all wired. i smoked on cigarette just now, and it tasted like shit. it must mean my lungs are getting healthier. kewl. this hot weather dissuades smoking of every kind. damn you carlo my cuzin, for getting me into this. hehehe. but i don't mind. i don't inhale anyway. hahahaha.

what else, i went to the art film coffee club, and i must apologize to mark dy for not answering his e-mail, but i went anyway :_) I also met oliver pulambarit, who seems to be a decent enough fellow. noel vera is gone, and so we'll miss his witticisms, but maybe not his snide remarks, hehehe. just kidding, noel.

thanks to jp, i got to see Faces today, which is a good movie. and he is great. but i am getting tired of Carneyesque type movies. i'll probably watch Solaris by Tartovsky, and that's it. take a break, back to my mindless michael bay. hehehe.

i am still on an equilibrium high, and am looking forward to the summer blockbusters. am reading premiere's latest power issue, and it's chockful of information. you gotta love it. it's interesting to see which acters are in the 20 million dollar club.

speaking of which, did you read about that guy who discovered 650 million dollars in an airport hangar in baggy-dad. i would've kept some. or at least i'll make some money selling t-shirts saying "650 Million Dollar Man" hehehe. kudos for his honesty, good old american.

ted rall made a very controversial ed cartoon today that will put him in a lot of his shit. but i must admire his courage, and so i like him again. even sent him an e-mail. i wonder if he'll respond.

one really kewl thing about lj's is you can lock entries. this one you can't.
