I've been going through my Amazon wishlist

and I like my taste, hehehe, or at least what I'm curious about

1) Birds Without Wings by LOUIS DE BERNIERES

This guy is a god among writers. I read his whole Cochedebajo de Los Gatos series and Red Dog. I love him. Even though this book is getting bad reviews, I'll read it. Heck, I read (and loved) Red Dog.

2) Slacker by Richard Linklater

I'm a slacker and so I might as well watch a movie about my people. I heard that this movie was really weak and looked like it was done by, well, a slacker. Though this is Linklater when he was raw and uncut. And normally filmmakers are best when they are young and not yet too old and make run-of-the-mill shit. I have yet to see a director buck this trend. Most of the ones that can are the ones who make slow movies in the first place. Like Miyazaki or Lynch. I want to be a slow burn director so I can direct forever and not come out with shite.

3) Bubba Ho-Tep (Limited Collector's Edition) by Don Coscarelli

I'm watching this because aintitcool recommends it. I probably shouldn't watch this, and I'm not as much as a fan of the chin guy as the rest of the internet geeks are, but I'll watch it anyway.

4) The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress by Robert A. Heinlein

The next book I want to read. If only Powerbooks or Fully Booked had it. I was pining for Rendezvous with Rama for the longest time. It was shite, but at least Fully Booked eventually stocked it, and I was entertained naman. Sana they'll stock Heinlein eventually.

5) Real Ultimate Power: The Official Ninja Book by Robert Hamburger

It's a book about ninjas, how can you not want to read a book about ninjas!

NINJAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

6) Invader ZIM - Doom Doom Doom (Vol. 1) by Steve Ressel

Coz I am ZIM! Hannah got me hooked on this fella and his sidekick Grrr. Amazing movie. Never such fantastic animation for a TV series. Jhonen is god. I hope he comes up with something amazing again soon. Bets are he well.

7) Vacuuming Completely Nude in Paradise by Danny Boyle

Coz it's by Danny Boyle. And you find out what's he's been doing post-Beach. I also want to see Strumpet, but I don't think it's available on DVD.

8) Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa

Coz I read Shogun, and I thought it kicked butt. Must read more books about samurai culture that are cool. Ever seen Samurai Fiction?

9) Make Your Own Damn Movie!: Secrets of a Renegade Director by Lloyd Kaufman

Don't really have to read this book. I already read the Troma Films book, which was fantastic. Actually got to hold (not watch) The Toxic Avenger DVD yesterday.

10) The Commitments (Collector's Edition) by Alan Parker

Coz it's the fookin greatest movie ever made. Haha. I lie. But it's the best movie about a band, I've ever seen.

11) On War (Classics S.) by Karl Von Clausewitz

Coz I want to conquer the world.

12) Decline of British Sea Power by British Sea Power

Because it sounds like New Wave daw. But they're Czech.

13) Big Sur by Jack Kerouac

Coz I loved On The Road.

14) Howl and Other Poems (Pocket Poets) by Allen Ginsberg

Coz I'm a pretentious git like that.

15) Director's Series, Vol. 3 - The Work of Director Michel Gondry by Michel Gondry

All the director's to watch.

16) Director's Series, Vol. 2 - The Work of Director Chris Cunningham by Lance Bangs

17) Director's Series, Vol. 1 - The Work of Director Spike Jonze by Spike Jonze

18) Spun (Unrated Version) by Jonas Ã…kerlund

coz it's directed by Jonas Akerlund.

19) Intacto by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo

I don't even know why this movie is here. But I think it was recommended by aintitcool

20) May by Lucky McKee

A cult horror film. It looks like fun.

21) Bunker 13: A Novel by Aniruddha Bahal

A Bollywood type book, where the man can jump from buildings, shoot people and get the girl or something like that. I want to read it, haha!

22) The Commitments by Alan Parker

Coz it's the greatest movie ever made. Or should be.

23) Paul Verhoeven by Rob Van Scheers

Coz he's the greatest director ever. Okay, maybe not. But he has a PHD in philosophy and it shows in his work. Especially the Dutch stuff.

pause muna pagod ako.
