Today was the first time that I saw a movie based on the skill of the cinematographer alone.
Adrian Biddle did the cinematography for Aliens (yes, Aliens!), The Princess Bride, Thelma and Louise, 1492: Conquest of Paradise, The Mummy, Reign of Fire and now, Shanghai Knights, which I saw tonight. Which was indeed beautifully shot.
And the story was quite fun. I have never seen so much cliche in a movie in a long time, but Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan we're hillarious. Wilson is on such a roll right now, that I wish I saw I Spy. And his tandem with Jackie Chan in this movie, was great. "What in our history together makes you even think I am capable of doing that (grin)." Jackie's stunts were breathtaking and amazingly funny at the same time. Owen Wilson is da man.
