I was talking with somebody at work about movies. And he said he loved the Matrix, but he hated Chinese kung fu, even though he acknowledges the fact that the Matrix borrowed heavily from it.

he just likes the Americanized version and not the original kung fu.

and that's the way it stands.

speaking of wuxia, on Discovery they have an episode that covers all of wuxia, from king hu, to the shaw brothers, to this other guy that is supposed to be the best. it was a good episode. and john woo is wuxia with guns. (wuxia kasi means sword movie).

it's amazing how the guardians of taste can point you in a certain direction. knowles is into Elvis movies all of the sudden. Elvis! Now all of the sudden I'm interested. Ack. I'm such a groupie.
