Movie fixes.
We need our movie fixes like we need dopamine fixes. Watching a good movie is like taking a good hit from a cigarette. It's effects last for hours. Okay, that's dumb, a cigarette hit lasts only a few minutes. Well anyway, what I'm trying to get at is watching movies is such a high, that we get addicted and keep looking for more.
When I get a high from a movie like say, Shaolin Soccer (woo, what a surprise). I tend to look for that hit again, hence my infatuation with Kung Fu Hustle. And then we start looking for movies by the same director, so that we can find that high again.
Really good movies deserved to be watched again. And again. On a sidenote, I just saw two movies with James Cromwell in it on HBO. Sum of All Fears and Babe. If I was to compare both movies, I'd say Sum of All Fears because the high never lets up. Babe could've used some editing, but the ending packs a wallop.
One of the greatest scenes in Sum Of All Fears was when the President (Cromwell) went to the Superbowl. There it was announced, ladies and gentlemen, The President of the United States. And everyone booed. And a smile spread across Cromwell's face and he said, "Showtime". Very classic Cromwell. You can't even say it was Cromwell who did it, because he was just playing a small part. But he executed it perfectly, and who could ask for more.
And in Babe, well the classic line was obvious. Hehe.
I hate my posts. But I think faster than I write. So it goes.
